I'm not one of those people who like watching something remade in another language or setting, because I find it pointless to watch something I've already seen and enjoyed in its original language or setting. (Personal opinion... setting aside the academic aspect.)
Therefore, I've never tried watching live-action adaptations.
As for One Piece, the truth is I haven't watched the anime, even though I love anime. Perhaps the reason is that I wasn't ready to watch a thousand episodes or more, and I'm also not a fan of 90s anime, or let's say, very old anime.

Of course, like many others, we grew up watching different kinds of anime, and at the time, these were our favorites, and I still remember many of them. But I prefer watching new things rather than getting attached and trying to find old episodes, most of which have disappeared. I don't deny the existence of wonderful old movies, anime, and series, but I haven't felt the urge to watch One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, or any of the others.
I'm sure that their continued success for so many years reflects the immense popularity of these anime and their large fan base, but movies, programs, anime, and other genres each have their own dedicated audience.
Let's get back to our topic, One Piece... as an anime, I haven't watched it at all... but as a live-action adaptation, I watched every episode, and I hope it continues uninterrupted because it's simply amazing and rich.
I found myself watching some clips of the anime to see the differences, and knowing that the live-action adaptation was almost faithful to the anime makes me even happier. Should I watch the anime now that I love the story?
Honestly, no.
Because for me, these characters have become real, not just anime characters speaking English, not Japanese, and I don't think I could watch them in any other way.

And... more importantly... people who aren't interested in anime or don't want to watch them become an audience without even realizing it. Changing media, environments, and sometimes even language always creates a new audience...an audience that shares the joy of watching.
What did I like?
The story delves into boundless imagination: Devil Fruits, pirates, superpowers, good and evil, and, of course, most importantly, dreams.
The characters are lovable and put effort into telling the story. You can feel the actors' desire to portray the characters as best as possible, as if they've been given a new lease on life...I'm referring to the actors, not the anime characters.
The set design, lighting, cinematography, camera work, makeup, and costumes—everything makes you enjoy the story.
