It's remarkable how the Japanese anime industry pays such close attention to the anime songs featured in each season. Some of these songs even win numerous awards and achieve immense popularity. Some songs are written specifically for anime, while others are adapted from existing material. Typically, an anime series includes two songs: an opening theme and an ending theme. These songs usually carry messages related to the anime's content.
Furthermore, the editing process for these songs reflects a special effort and dedication to making them impactful. The selection of appropriate music and scenes is crucial, making the creation of an anime song an essential element that enhances the popularity of both the anime and its performers.
Singers often produce special videos for these songs, either before or after their release alongside the anime, transforming them into enjoyable cultural products that are just as important as the anime. For me, the Spring 2026 anime showcased fantastic examples of songs and creative editing, but five songs in particular impressed me. Most of them were opening themes, except for the ending theme, which I consider to have taken first place. It carried a deep emotional dimension and featured creative editing that you'll want to watch again and again.
