I think my
journey with yoga began a very long time ago; I don't remember exactly when. It
started simply because I couldn't do fast-paced exercise due to health issues,
leaving me breathless after the first workout.
And since the
seasons don't always allow for outdoor walks, and other reasons like laziness
about getting ready, getting dressed, styling my hair, etc., walking doesn't
sculpt the body. Still, it's essential for health and cholesterol levels... “so walking shouldn't be neglected...it's truly important”. Given
the terrible illness that confined us all to our homes for over a year, which
prompted many people to exercise at home...

Speaking of
which... I remember a girl once telling the lecturer that she had never
exercised at home in her life until she was forced to during the coronavirus
pandemic. I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. Perhaps she just wanted to
make a point when the lecturer asked about the changes in our lives due to the
pandemic.
I think
attending a PhD lecture at home in my pajamas is quite a change, I suppose. But
maybe not for everyone. Some people earn academic degrees without even leaving
their beds.
Anyway...
Me and yoga...
there's something I can't explain, but practicing yoga makes me happy in one
way or another. Perhaps it's the feeling that I'm trying to clear my mind while
I'm trying to stand on one leg. I've tried so many apps, some are incredibly
difficult, others boring, some are bizarre and pointless, and others require an
exorbitant monthly fee.
You might
wonder why I don't practice yoga by watching videos. My friend does. Honestly,
I don't know. Maybe it's because apps allow me to choose the time, the type of
exercise (beginner, intermediate, or advanced), the voice, the music, and so
on.
And here's
where I have to tell you about the app I fell in love with. It's one of the few
useful things my school sent me, especially considering the overwhelming number
of emails I receive, most of which I consider spam.
This app gave
me a year, maybe more (I don't really remember), of free use during the
COVID-19 pandemic, and it's been my favorite ever since.
Meanwhile, after
being busy for a while, “many things on my plate”, I've finally been able to
get back into practicing yoga. They have many great apps, all under one very
cheap annual subscription.
This amazing app that I should share is called Down Dog. Like the previous one, I don't own it, and they don't offer me any discounts or sponsorships. It's simply an app I love, and it deserves to be shared. They currently have six apps, of which I use yoga and Pilates, while the other options seem worth trying
